New Monster takes cues from the Monster 696 launched earlier this year, but includes the 1078cc V-Twin from the Multistrada and Hypermotard as a motivational force. Like 848, it uses a crankcase formed by the vacuum die-cast method for less weight. Two-valves per cylinder, air-cooled Twin is said to produce 95 hp at 7500 rpm, with a wagon-popping 79.5 ft-lbs of torque at 6000 rpm. Traditional Ducati dry clutch also set apart from the 696 powertrain.
